Obedience

Okay dear readers here is the next part of the message, the second challenge that the MASTER gave me a while back. If you remember I said I would follow up my last entry with this, so here goes. It is, you will see related although on a slightly different subject matter.
To start with I will have to take you back to November 2001 when my wife left me. (My fault but not related to this entry) This was the beginning of a journey into the wilderness of which I am writing about somewhere else as time permits, however lets stick to this issue here.
It was a very difficult time for me, my Dad had just died a couple of weeks earlier and while I was at his I heard the SPIRIT speaking to me about my marriage but all I did was hear , I didnt do anything about it. To cut a long story short I was devastated. I began a spiritual journey in which the LORD would train me, test me and remould me just like the potter in Jeremiah 18 v 4. It was hard, harder than hard but I progressed along, enduring everything that was thrown at me. Until around 10 months later. It was here that I met someone , this someone was a very tasty female of exotic origin and someone that the lads I worked with all had eyes for, but for some reason it was only me she had eyes for. Over a period of time our friendship became more permanent and we became an item.
I was seperated but still married at the time but I justified this relationship in my own heart because I felt like I deserved some happiness and fun after the last 10 months, of course deep in my heart I knew that the LORD did not approve but I didnt dwell on it I convinced myself He did not mind because I was hurting and he wouldn't want me to hurt. Deep down however I knew my actions grieved Him deeply and brought much accusations from the accusser of the Brethren. This lady was really good to me ,she made me feel really special and in the circumstances gave me something to look forward too. The LORD kept challenging me on this refusing to leave me alone like a shepherd searching for a lost sheep but I just kept pushing it aside refusing to acknowledge it. This lady was also into the new age and she practiced various things from runes to qi gong, it was at this point that I turned a blind eye to her doing it in my house although I never took part in it. Somewhat like King Solomon did in 1 Kings 11.
In reality she was a counterfeit, a deception and I had fallen into satans trap, as time went by I began to come under such heavy conviction that I couldn't say anything when we were together, I was almost mute. However I had gotten used to her and the company was nice, but also I didnt want to hurt her. She went home to her country for a period of time and I began to relax. She came back and I met her at the airport and we drove home, it was nice but that night I just couldnt sleep, I felt like a ton weight was on top of me and I wanted to shout out that "I cant do this". I made some comment the next morning and she went home upset. We didnt talk for a while but slowly drifted back together but when we did the conviction was just as strong and I found myself mute whenever we were together, I litterally could not John the Baptists father in the Gospels , I found it a major challenge to even converse with her it was awful. To cut a long story shorter we split up and I said for us not to remain in contact.
This relationship was adulterous, even though my wife had left me I was still married, even if I was not married it was still adulterous and still an abomination before the LORD. Now with the relationship out of the way, the LORD got me back on track and to be honest I have learnt so much from this experience, also because of it I have remained in the wilderness for a season longer but I am richer for it. Then a while after this the LORD began to challenge me about this relationship again, specifically the fruits of it. He has called me to be holy, just as He is holy.1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. He has called me to bring every aspect of my life under His Lordship, to be clean and to give no cause for His name to be slandered 2Sa 12:14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme me, the child also [that is] born unto thee shall surely die. David because of His adultery with the wife of Uriah had given the enemies of the LORD great cause to slander His name, and he paid for it for the rest of his life.
The LORD reminded me that I am to bring no unclean thing into my house. Deuteronomy 7 v 26, "Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it. You shall utterly detest it and utterly abhor it, for it is an accursed thing" He showed me that whetever fruit I had left from the non covenant relationship , it was an abomination to Him and it must be removed. I therefore threw out all the photographs, cards, letters and gifts I had kept from it. Not all at the same time I add, somethings it took me some time to do but eventually it all went into the bin. One thing I tried to hold onto was a gift from her country which I was quite fond of and I tried to reason that because I kept it in my garden, that technically it was not in my house therefore it was okay, but the LORD said "Get rid of it". I threw it in the bin and I have to say I have no regrets. I now have nothing left from this relationship but fading memories that mean nothing , sometimes I drift back and just thank the LORD for His patience and the fact that He never gave up on me and that He continued to seek out His wandering sheep. I am so glad that my young Lion cubs were not exposed to this , my youngest only meeting her once.
If I had died during this relationship, would I have been saved? Some say "Yes, although by the skin of your teeth" . I and others say "No, I would have not , I was practicing rebellion and adultery I was bringing shame on the name of the LORD". I have had opportunities since but I am not going back to Egypt I prefer the wilderness because its the way to the promised land, the LORD has revealed to me what is in the promised land and I will continue to be obedient to my call to contend for it because His name is glorified in it. To you dear believer remember that the devil seeks to bring you down and ruin your testimony and also doscredt the LORD of glory, be wise, don't entertain sin, flee from it at all costs.
My prayer for today is. "LORD, may I always seek to do your will and not mine, may I conform my life to your word and not the other way around , Amen".

I want to share with you in todays posting one of the things the LORD has been teaching me this last couple of years, I will then go on to another thing He has been teaching me which is related to this issue but on another posting in the near future. Anyway lets start with this first. The Bible tells us not to' take the name of the LORD thy GOD in vain', Exodus 20 v 7 His name is Holy It is a 'strong tower that the righteous can run too'. Proverbs 18 v 10 .It is a' sword in our hands in which to pull down strongholds'. Hebrews 4 v 12 . I could go on but you know what I am saying. His name is wonderful, so wonderful that I hear it proclaimed every single day, In my workplace, on the telly, in general everyday conversation, surely you must hear it too. "JESUS CHRIST" I hear proclaimed as someone spreads some juicy gossip, "JESUS CHRIST" I hear declared as someone hears how much their chip butty has just cost them at the cafe, "JESUS CHRIST" someone utters as they check the weather forecast for tomorrow. It appears that the name of our LORD and MASTER has become a swear word, a byword, even a curse. These past years the LORD has been challenging me on this issue and I have been acting accordingly. It physically hurts me and saddens me when I hear people do this, not just because it is the name of the one I love, but also because I know the one doing it does not understand what they are doing nor that they will one day give account for it to the one they slander. I am growing bolder in challenging people when they do this although I still have some way to go in this area. I have written to T.V companies and newspaper letter pages to protest at this only to be ignored. I believe however my LORD is pleased with me, I say that not to boast, for I am nobody without Him but I say it simply because I believe He is pleased with me because I have made the effort.
In the last year I have thrown out so many dvd's video's & books. It has not been easy because I am a great movies fan and most of my favourite movies seem to find it appropriate to blaspheme the name of the One whom took a beating for me. But if they want to slander the One who saved me then I don’t want their films in my house. Here is a mere sample of only some of the films & shows I have thrown out because of this. 'Dances with wolves', 'Shawshank Redemption', 'Saving Private Ryan' , 'Blackadder the first' and many more. Even books I have been reading use the term so I bin them. When I am relaxing watching telly, if the LORDs name is slandered I turn over. I am not going to grace a show that sees nothing wrong with insulting my LORD. I have been known to flick to another channel only to hear it again because it is so common nowadays, I have even walked out of the cinema half way through because of it. Some of you reading this may think "Oh, that’s a bit extreme isn’t it?" but I dont. My LORD took my sin and continues to sustain me despite the fact I am a lousy sinner, I want to do whatever I can to honour Him, and on top of that I know it pleases Him.
My Prayer for today is, "LORD, please keep me humble, do not let my boast be in anything but you.

What would you do ?

What would you do in such a situation? There is not time to think about it or try and make a deal. What would you do? Thousands around the world have confessed Christ in such circumstances refusing to deny Him at the expense of losing their own lives, what a resurection they must have experienced. Trust in the Lord at all times people, don't worry about those whom can only kill the body, your soul is what matters. It's eternal.
Lord please strenthen the backs of those whom face persecution in your name, help them endure hardship as good soldiers of Christ, vindicate them from false accusations but help them maintain a good confession of your name. We remember all those whom have gone before us in such circumstances especially our Lord Himself, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Pond Inlet or Mount Sinai !

On February 28th 1999 in the remote settlement of Pond Inlet on Canada's Baffin Island something quite remarkable happened. The small Anglican church was holding an afternoon youth service attended by the predominantly Inuit community and little did they know they were about to have an Old Testament experience of the Most High GOD.
The 2006 census of Pond Inlet indicates that the population of the settlement at the time was 1,315 and that the people were disturbed about reports of drug use amongst the teenagers in their community and they had came together according to the book of Acts to seek the LORD.
On the day concerned the Most High visited them with the sound of a volcano and a shaking of the earth, the actual visitation was recorded as the church p.a system was on. The sound of wind and fire bring me to tears when I listen to them. Check out these testimonies of the day:
"An invitation was offered for Youth who felt they wanted to come closer to God." The worship leader, Louee Arieak, was praying over the youth at the altar, "I felt so close to God... He kept giving me this verse that says, 'Blessed are the Pure in Heart, for they shall see God.' "
"Something started to happen, that was beyond our control."
"Fire went right through me!"
"It sounded like a jet, but I started to think, there are no jets in Pond Inlet".
"It was so loud, that everything started to shake, All the people started to shake."
"Fire !!!! Fire !!!! Hallelujah!!!!!! OHHHHHHH!!!!!"
When the sound first started, Pastor Moses Kayak tried to stop the sound by first adjusting, and then even turning off the sound board. But still the sound, and the recording, continued. "It shouldn't have been recorded. It's only by the miracle of God."
The pastor recounts the story. He was "... completely humbled, to the point where he wanted to continually come before God, kneel... and ask for cleansing of the heart - to become pure before Him."
"My name is John Tugak. I played the guitar that nite there at the service. The sound started just barely noticable like a tv with no signal. Then it built up louder like as if a big plane flew over but the noise was there longer than usual. Saw the pastor trying to adjust and fix the noise with the sound system but it continued. I even saw him turn off the system but it didnt help. Then I realize, and I believe the sound is from the presence of the almighty God. I still believe, and have never experience anything like it! If the sound was from the sound system, it would break as it was too loud for the speakers to handle it. The speakers cannot make that kind of sound and shake the building. The sound was amazing!"

No matter what some people may say about 'The Sun & Daily Mail' we do have in England are very liberal media. Since 11/ 9 I have read many articles reporting on the subject of Westerners converting to Islam, but I have never read anything in the national media of the reverse, that is Muslims becoming Christians. I am aware that many thousands of Muslims are becoming Christians, not just in Islamic countries but also in England. One of my best mates Hasan for example, is a chap whom converted to Christianity and is now studying in order to take the Gospel of our Lord JESUS CHRIST to the Islamic people. He is a joy to spend time with and is full of love for the One who delivered him.
Why is it not reported ? The media does not really consider it news and it does not fit in with the agenda of rubbishing anything to do with Christianity that seems to exist in our increasingly GODless society. I think also , the media fears reporting anything derogatory about Islam because it knows from experience that it brings nothing but trouble and the odd fatwa too.
I have read many good articles on the growth of the church behind the veil, mostly from ministries involved in such work. A lot of this work is secretive for obvious reasons so I will not put it on this article, however I came across this interesting site. Check out the following and praise the LORD :-)
Christians website are attracting many from the Muslim world
MISSION NETWORK NEWS - February 16, 2006 - While hard-line Muslim nations make accessing Christian websites difficult, it's not impossible and these websites are making an incredible impact for the kingdom.
Strategic Resource Group (SRG) helps organizations reach out to the lost inside the 10/40 Window. SRG reports Christian websites are receiving nearly 9 million hits per month from the Middle East. One Christian organization hosting chat rooms for Arabic-speaking web users estimates that more than 42,000 people visit those sites daily.
About 2,000 Arabic language Bibles are downloaded from the Internet each month. One organization estimates that 20 people per month are giving their hearts to Christ as a result of learning about the Christian faith on these websites alone.
Although some Islamic governments try to block these websites, the Internet generally knows no borders. More than half of the population in the Middle East is 25 years old or younger, and many of these young people own computers or have access to them. This technology has connected people together through e-mail groups, networks, blogs and chat rooms.
Christian organizations are seizing the Internet opportunity to create communities of people who can openly talk about faith issues in a safe environment. In the greater Middle East, the Internet represents a crucial growth sector for communicating the Christian message in Arabic, Farsi and regional languages.

Imagine if you were pottering about in your front garden and JESUS walks by, He comes to your gate and says, "come, leave all this behind and follow me".
What would you say ?
1. "Hold on LORD, let me bury my Father first".
2 "That sounds great LORD, carry on and I will catch up with you after I hear the football scores".
3. "Yes LORD, I am coming right now".
If you answered '1' , I think your priorities need looking at. If you answered '2' I think your heart is in the right place but you need some fine tuning. If you answered '3' I think you have found the Pearl of great price. However joking aside, this is a serious question. What would you really say?

Are you looking for a hero?

Here in England, a land that once took the Gospel to the nations through empire and exploration, we are now socially engineered by a godless secular government that has managed to remove Christ from the fabric of our nations identity, this can only bring judgement just as it did to ancient Israel when he denied the One whom brought them out of Egypt. We now follow the cult of celebrity. The shops are full of glossy magazines reporting on the lives of the celebrity, we even have our own football style league tables for them with the most 'in' celebs being classed as 'A' list whilst those considered as has beens demoted to 'Z' list. Of course there are also many reality TV shows where the lower class celeb is happy to make a spectacle of him/her self in order to resurect their career and showbiz status thus resulting in promotion up the celebrity league table. These people are idolised but generally all they do is sing, act & pose. Some are good looking whilst some are not. Some actually do entertain whilst some do not but what actually do they do for you? The answer to that question is, nothing. The funny thing about all of this however is that in a large percentage of English homes you will still find a Bible put away somewhere either as a hand me down from previous generations or as a religious feel good gesture. this book will provide you with all the gossip about some real celebrities that will add something positive to your life. In this book you will find some real heroe's my own personal favourites that I can identify with being Jacob and his son Joseph but of course the greatest hero is the one whom became flesh and died for us. He is the one to honour, the one to follow, the one to emulate and the one to give your life to right now. Lord Jesus I surrender to you acknowledging that I am a sinner whom cannot save him/her self. Please be my Saviour wash me in your blood and teach me to keep your commands. thank You.

Last minute salvation

The other night I was on my knees praying, I had felt the LORD calling me to pray for the lost, especially for those about to pass into eternity without Him, I went to my prayer chair and got before my GOD. I began to pray for those whom would be dying that very night around the world, whether that be through old age, disease, war, accident or whatever. They were all known and loved by the LORD. I began to ask the HOLY SPIRIT to give them wisdom, understanding to realise that they were lost and had no Saviour, to break their pride and help them have the knowledge to call on CHRIST from their hearts. I was asking that the LORD would snatch them from the very jaws of Hell at their point of entry. remember that the Word says" The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance". 2 Peter 3v9
I prayed along those lines for a period and then I saw in my mind what looked like a great and massive waterfall flowing swiftly towards a massive drop and it was all in darkness but just at the point where the falls went over into a deep void I saw what looked like little lights streaming up out of the mass and rise up into the sky. They looked like little flames going up to Heaven. I am convinced that the LORD was showing me that as I prayed people were being saved literally just as they were about to enter eternity without Him. I thank the LORD for this, the Bible says there is "rejoicing in the presence of the Angels when one sinner repents" Luke 15v7. I believe there was quite a party in Heaven that night and I will continue to pray like this.
Dear Lord JESUS I know I am a sinner, please forgive me for the way I have offended you throughout my life. Come into my life and be my saviour, change me and prepare me for heaven, let my transformed life point others towards you. Thank You LORD.

Prodigals

I was on the floor by my bed praying to the Most High in the name of the Lord JESUS CHRIST, I was praying that the LORD would bring ALL prodigals home together at the same time, I then paused to reason thinking maybe its a bit too much to ask the LORD to bring ALL prodigals home at the same time, was this a realistic request? Just then when I pondered to myself 'Of course its a realistic request, nothing is impossible for the LORD' just then, in my mind was the image of a large group of people coming through a steep valley. I immediately knew that these were the Hebrews coming out of Egypt, they were coming out of Egypt together by the hand of the LORD. So in answer to my own question, "Yes" the LORD can bring all prodigals home at the same time. Hallelujah. There is nothing , nothing ,absolutely nothing, nothing to difficult for thee. FATHER, I ask in the name of JESUS, that by the power of your HOLY SPIRIT you would soften the hearts of all prodigals, bring them home from the north, the west, east and south, bring them to their senses as you brought the prodigal son to his. Please make all those waiting like the father whom watched for his son when his son returned. Amen.

Are you ready

The LORD is coming soon, very soon but are you ready? When he comes He will take those who are ready and for those left behind it's not going to be a very nice time on planet Earth. The Bible says " The LORD will come like a thief in the night" 1 Thessalonians 5 v 2-4 that doesn't mean he's going to come along and nick your stereo while your sleeping, it means he will come when you are at ease and not expecting it. The Bible further advises you that in relation to the fact JESUS is coming in such a way,"If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him." Matthew 23v43-44. A classic parable is the parable of the 10 virgins found in Matthew 25 why not read it and seek the LORD's wisdom on what the oil represents. Check out the following video and accept Jesus as your Saviour, the following prayer said from a repentant heart will bring salvation to you and the Lord will give you His Holy Spirit as a deposit to guarantee your inheritance. Ephesians 1v13-14.

I want to turn from mysinful nature and follow You instead. Lord, Iopen my heart to You, and invite You to comeinto my life, and make me into the person You want me tobe. Jesus, I accept You as my Lord and Savior. Please fillme with Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name
Now you have made that wonderful decision to follow JESUS you need to get involved in a good Bible believing church where Christ and His word are preached & enjoy fellowship with your brothers & sisters also read His word and develop a healthy prayer life. He has a lot to teach you on your walk with Him. He loves you!

The second book of Jonah.

2 Jonah 1v1
And the word of the LORD came to Jonah again saying, "Go to that great city of london and tell them what you told Ninevah, tell them how their wickedness has come up before me". Jonah at once responded in obedience having learned the hard way last time and made preperations to go to England. Weeks later he arrived at Dover and parked his large fish in the harbour alongside the ferries. Jonah knew that he was in the LORDs perfect timing because the day he arrived in Dover the railway service to London was actually working, a mighty wind had cleared the leaves from the track that very morning, Jonah didn't even mind not being able to buy himself a coffee and a sarny as he only had twenty quid. He was just happy to bring the message of repentance to the city from which time itself takes it origins. Jonah arrived at Victoria station and hopped on the tube finally arriving at Westminster without being mugged or happy slapped once. He emerged from the tube into the glorious English rain and looked around at his surroundings, He looked up at the clock tower which holds Big Ben and the rest of the magnifient Palace of Westminster, Mother of all parliaments, he glanced over to Westminster Abbey where Kings and Queens have been crowned for centuries and though to himself, 'This is the perfect place to begin'. He walked over to the pleasant green between the two buildings and found a nice spot to proclaim the word of the LORD. Facing the Parliament from where all the greats of England have governed, Cromwell, Pitt, Churchill & Thatcher to name but a few, he swallows, takes a deep breath and then at the top of his voice shouts, "Woe unto you London & Woe unto you England for in 40 days all this you see around you shall be thrown down, your sin has reached the heavens and judgement will surely come". Just as he was about to continue with the message that the LORD had gave him, a man with a copy of the Guardian under his arm challenged him, "Who are you calling a sinner? I am not a sinner, I find it offensive that you should label me so". Jonah replied, "Because you say you have no sin, you clearly are a sinner". The man protested. Another man said, "Excuse me, don't you realise that all you see around you is of special historical interest and are therefore protected as Grade 2 listed buildings, you cant say that about them, who do you think you are"? A young women in a hijab protested "Yes , judgement is coming to England, and Islam will govern this land, is this what you mean"? Jonah responded , "No Miss, for their is no salvation in Islam nor the false god of Islam, the true GOD whom made the heavens & the earth will judge in righteousness, there is no GOD but Him and your only hope is to repent before Him. The young woman proclaimed, "That is bigotry, how dare you say, He is the only GOD, allah is the only god, how dare you say Islam is false, I will have you arrested". Jonah was just about to respond to this when he felt a heavy hand on his shoulder, "Your nicked"! turning his head around he noticed 23 policemen behind him. Jonah proclaimed, "Sir, I am here as a prophet of the LORD, I am exercising my right to free speech outside the mother of all parliaments which itself is trying to bring free speech to the middle east, therefore surely I can exercise my free speech of all places here”. The Policeman said, " Your a bit late mate, a new law which was introduced in August 2005 which outlaws protests within 1/2 a mile of Parliament. Section 132 of the 'serious organised crime and police act' bans unauthorised demonstrations in this designated area, you Sir have broken that law and in the process it appears from what those around you are telling me, you have also committed various hate crimes. You are under arrest and will be taken to Paddington Green for further questioning. We don’t need the likes of you around here".

Dear Friends, this may seem a little tongue in cheek or over the top, but I believe this is in reality the type of reception and ridicule that Jonah or any prophet of GOD would recieve should he come with a message of Judgement. We seem to have drifted so far from the LORD and our Christian heritage that it is normal now to practice sin, sinful practices are labelled 'alternative lifestyles'. We are told 'all paths lead to GOD' and even the church itself questions fundemental truths whilst allowing practices that the LORD clearly states in scripture are against His will. We need to humble ourselves acknowledging our sin and seek the LORD to be merciful to us, asking Him to reap a last great harvest before He comes again.

Fatherhood

Sometimes when I am sitting relaxing with my two girls or when I am watching them enjoy themselves playing. I say to them lovingly but in an assertive manner, "Oi ,Your my girls I am your Dad, don't ever forget that, you belong to me.I love you so much,even more than egg 'n' chips,dont ever forget that".
What I am demonstrating when I do that, is this. I am letting them know that there is something special between us, that they are precious to me and that I am concerned with every area of their lives. I am also implying that I am there to protect them and to keep them safe. That they are to trust in their Daddy, in what he says and does knowing whatever he says or does with regard to them is for their wellbeing and protection.
Last night I was reading a book and as I read the scripture from Isaiah 44 v 6 to 8. Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, and His redeemer , the LORD of hosts: "I am the first and the last: besides me there is no God. And who can proclaim as I do? Then let him declare it and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people. And the things that are coming and shall come , let them show these to them. Do not fear , nor be afraid; have I not told you from that time, and declared it? You are My witnesses. Is there a GOD besides me? Indeed there is no other Rock; I know not one".
As I read this verse the HOLY SPIRIT opened my eyes as to what I say to my kids. It is what GOD says to us. It is exactly the same except he is obviously far better at it. Just as I, as a Father, love my kids, I want to protect them, prosper them, educate them and cause them to grow into good citizens. I want them to know that we have a special relationship that means everything to me and that I would lay my life down for them and I want them to know that I am their Father and that they are the object of my desire.
Dear beloved of the LORD, Your GOD is like this toward you. He loves you so much that He did lay His life down for you. He cares about you and wants to bless you, he wants you to come to him and trust Him that He may pour upon you great blessings. He wants you to acknowledge that He alone is your GOD and that you do not need to fear anything that comes against you, because he is your protector and deliverer, that you are special to Him. When the HOLY SPIRIT made me aware of this I became quite excited, excited at what he had revealed to me, but also excited that He had revealed it to me. I made notes and read down the page of the book I was reading. Glory !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the next verse I read was this from Habakkuk 2 v 2. Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it"
Well I dont have any tablets except maybe a pack of Asparin in the cupboard. But this is not exactly what the LORD means, I do however have this cyber tablet so I am writing it down here for you to read. I continued reading and the next verse I came to was Daniel 7 v 1. Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he was lying on his bed. He wrote down the substance of his dream.
I was lying on my bed as I was reading this, okay I wasn't dreaming as I wasn't asleep but I was recieving revelation and I have written down the substance of what I feel GOD revealed to me.
Brethren, What a loving FATHER we have, His mercies are new every morning. He loves us with an everlasting love, How great a love is it that he has bestowed upon us, its the honour of being called 'children of GOD'. He calls us to reason with him, though our sins are like scarlet He will make them as white as the snow. He has called you by name and redeemed you . He says , when you pass through the waters or the fire, he will be with you to protect you. He will never leave or forsake you. If you are reading this and you do not know Him. You can call upon Him even now. Ask Him to forgive you for your sin, invite JESUS to be your Saviour. Get into the word of GOD , pray and seek a GODly Bible believing fellowship. You are precious to Him..
I will end this article with a little story of a recent occurence between my two lion cubs (My girls) and myself. I took them up to Metro Land at the Metro Centre in Gateshead. It is a large indoor shopping mall with a built in theme park. I bought them day passes so they could run around and enjoy themselves, whilst I could watch them enjoy themselves and at the same time drink loads of cafe latte. They spent their time going from ride to ride laughing , giggling and waving to Daddy Lion. In the theme park is an indoor rollercoaster with some great twists and turns. I have been on it many a time with the lads in years gone by and because I know my girls I know they would enjoy it. However last year when we came up to Northumbria they would not go on this as they were a bit scared, this year they felt the same, they did not want to go on it. Now we come to the spiritual bit.
I know my girls, I love my girls, I want them to have fun and enjoy themselves, I want them to have fond memories and great experiences. So I insisted that they come on the ride with me. They didn't want to but I asked them if they trusted me, if they believed I would take them somewhere that would harm them or jeapordise their safety. They know I wouldn't and they came on the ride with me safe in the protective arms of Daddy Lion. Well let me tell you this. I could not get them off the thing after that, they must have had at least 30 goes on the thing, they absolutely loved it, and i loved watching them and waving at my two young lions.
Your heavenly FATHER is like this, He wants to take you places that you have never been before, He wants you to grow in boldness and faith and to know that wherever he takes you, He is going with you and at the end of it are great blessings. He knows more than you.

IF I ASKED YOU , WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE VERSE IN THE BIBLE, IM SURE MOST OF YOU WOULD QUOTE THOSE WONDERFUL OLD FAVOURITES SUCH AS JOHN 3V16, PSALM 23, JOSHUA 1V9 ETC.
I WOULD SAY LUKE 5V8. I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE KNOW THAT ONE OFF THE TOP OF THEIR HEADS.
PICTURE THE SCENE, PETER A BIG, TOUGH ARGUMENTATIVE FISHERMAN OF MANY YEARS IN THE TOWN OF CAPERNAEM. HE HAS BEEN FISHING THE SEA OF GALILEE FOR YEARS WITH HIS BROTHER ANDREW AND THEIR MATES, HE KNOWS THE SEA LIKE THE BACK OF HIS HAND, TIDES, DEPTHS, WINDS , WHEN AND WERE TO FISH. HOWEVER THE PREVIOUS NIGHT, WHICH INCIDENTLY IS THE BEST TIME TO FISH AS THE FISH CAN NOT SEE THE NETS, HE HAD CAUGHT NOTHING , NOT EVEN A TIDDLER.
EVENTUALLY HE GIVES UP AND SAILS HIS BOAT INTO THE HARBOUR, HOW MUST HE HAVE FELT ? TIRED, KNOWING PETER, MAYBE A LITTLE ANNOYED, READY TO BITE THE HEAD OFF ANYONE WHO MENTIONS HIS CATCH. HOW IS HE GOING TO PAY HIS TAXES WITH NO FISH TO SELL, WHATS HE GOING TO EAT WITH HIS CHIPS? ITS NOT LOOKING GOOD.
ALL THESE THOUGHTS MUST HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH HIS MIND AS HE NEARED THE SHORE, BUT I THINK MOST OF ALL, THE THOUGHT OF GOING HOME TO BED. BUT FIRST OF ALL THEY HAD TO WASH AND CLEAN THE NETS, REMOVE ALL THE BITS OF WEED AND OTHER BITS OF DEBRIS THEY HAD PICKED UP.
HAVE YOU CLEANED YOUR NETS, REMEMBER JESUS SAID HE WOULD MAKE YOU A FISHER OF MEN, HAVE YOUR NETS IN GOOD ORDER,THAT YOU MAY BE EFFECTIVE IN YOUR MINISTRY, YOU TO ARE CALLED, JUST AS PETER AND ANDREW WERE. BACK TO THE STORY, PETER AND THE LADS ARE WASHING THE NETS, IT MUST HAVE BEEN EARLY MORNING BEFORE THE HEAT OF THE DAY, ALONG COMES THAT TEACHER, JESUS WITH A MULTITUDE, A GREAT NUMBER OF PEOPLE. DOWN HE COMES TO THE SHORE LINE AND WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT , HE GETS INTO PETERS BOAT AND SAYS" PETER, PUSH OUT A LITTLE INTO THE SHALLOWS, " SO PETER OBLIGES. THAT IS WERE HIS FAITH IS AT THIS TIME, IN THE SHALLOWS, JESUS HAS OTHER PLANS THOUGH. JESUS CONTINUES TO MINISTER TO THE CROWD ON THE SHORE, PETER SITS BACK AND LISTENS TO THIS TEACHER FROM NAZARETH WHO HE HAS RECENTLY JUST MET, HE HAD HEARD HIM IN THE SYNAGOGUE AND HAD WITNESSED HIS MOTHER IN LAW BEING HEALED OF THE FEVER BY JESUS (WHAT HE THOUGHT OF THAT WE WILL NEVER KNOW) 4V39 LUKE.
HE PROBABLY THOUGHT OF JESUS AS ANOTHER PROPHET, BUT WAS HAPPY TO LET HIS BROTHER ANDREW RUN AROUND AFTER HIM WHILE HE STUCK TO THE FISHING BUSINESS.
JESUS FINISHES SPEAKING THEN TURNS TO PETER AND SAYS "COME ON PETER LETS GO OUT TO THE DEPTHS AND PUT THE NETS DOWN FOR A CATCH"
HE OBVIOUSLY KNOWS ABOUT THE FISHLESS NIGHT. I THINK HE IS ALSO TESTING PETER OUT HERE.
WHAT ABOUT PETERS RESPONSE"MASTER WE HAVE TOILED ALL NIGHT AND CAUGHT NOTHING" TIRED , FED UP AND DEFEATED. NOT QUITE FOR HE GOES ON TO SAY "NEVERTHE LESS AT YOUR WORD I WILL LET DOWN THE NET"
HERE IS PETER A FISHERMAN BY TRADE, GOING OUT IN BROAD DAYLIGHT , IN A BIG FISHING BOAT, LISTENING TO A RABBI FROM NAZARETH, WHO IS TELLING HIM TO GO AGAINST ALL HIS INSTINCTS PETERS FAITH IS STILL IN THE SHALLOWS, BUT HE IS ABOUT TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEPTHS.
HE MAY OF THOUGHT TO HIMSELF "WHAT AM I DOING" AS THE NETS SANK INTO THE BEAUTIFUL DEEP WATERS OF THE GALILEE. AT THIS POINT, I IMAGINE JESUS WAS QUITE HAPPY TO SIT BACK AND WATCH THE DRAMA DEVELOP. GRADUALLY IT BEGINS TO DAWN ON THEM.
"OI PETER, GET A LOOK AT THIS" SHOUTS ONE OF THE CREW, PETER CURIOUSLY WANDERS OVER TO HAVE A LOOK, ITS THE NETS, THEY ARE PULLING, WE CANT HAVE SNAGGED ANYTHING ON THE BOTTOM AS ITS TO DEEP. THEY GATHER ROUND AND BEGIN TO PULL THE NETS, ITS HARD WORK BUT AS THE NETS GET NEARER THE SURFACE, IS IT A TRICK OF THE LIGHT? NO, ITS , "ITS FISH, BLINKIN HUNDREDS OF THEM. YOU LOT GET OVER HERE AND HELP". THERE ARE SO MANY FISH THAT THE BOAT IS IN DANGER OF BEING PULLED UNDER. "LADS, SAIL THE OTHER BOAT OVER TO HELP, QUICKLY"
THEY ARE LAUGHING THERE IS AN ELEMENT OF UNBELIEF OF WHAT HAS JUST HAPPENED, ITS NATURAL TO QUESTION THINGS WE DON'T UNDERSTAND, WE NEED TO REMEMBER THAT JESUS IS SUPERNATURAL.
THEY ARE BEGINNING TO COMPREHEND WHAT HAS JUST HAPPENED, ESPECIALLY PETER, THIS WELL HARD MAN IS OVERCOME BY CONVICTION, HE REALISES THIS MAN IN HIS BOAT IS NOT JUST A PROPHET, HE IS THE PROPHET SPOKEN OF BY MOSES, ISRAELS MESSIAH.
HE APPROACHES JESUS, LOWERS HIMSELF AND LEANS INTO JESUS KNEES " DEPART FROM ME , FOR I AM A SINFUL MAN, O LORD," HE IS NO LONGER MASTER, HE IS NOW LORD.
PETER WILL NEVER BE THE SAME, LET JESUS TAKE YOUR FAITH TO THE DEPTHS.

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SAT AND THOUGHT ABOUT SOME OF THE GREAT EVENTS OF THE BIBLE , AND WISHED YOU COULD OF BEEN THERE, GREAT EVENTS SUCH AS GOD FORMING AN ENTIRE UNIVERSE OUT OF NOTHING SIMPLY BY THE POWER OF HIS WORD, HOW ABOUT BEING WITH THE SHEPHERDS IN THE HILLS AROUND BETHLEHEM AS THE ANGELS ANNOUNCED TO THEM THE BIRTH OF MESSIAH, MAYBE WATCHING THE RED SEA PART FROM ONE SIDE TO ANOTHER AS THE HEBREWS PASSED THROUGH IT ON DRY LAND .
ONE EVENT I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE BEEN A WITNESS TO IS LOCATED AT THE END OF LUKE'S GOSPEL , BEGINNING AT 24 V 13 ITS ONLY A SHORT PASSAGE BUT THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
I LOVE THE WAY JESUS WAS READY TO WALK ON , BUT UPON BEING INVITED TO EAT WITH CLEOPAS AND SIMEON HE ACCEPTED, IT REMINDS US THAT HE GAVE US A FREE WILL TO CHOOSE, HE WILL NOT FORCE HIMSELF UPON US BUT AWAITS AN INVITE INTO OUR LIVES.
" IT'S TRUE PETER , EVERY WORD" SAID CLEOPAS. PETER SOMEWHAT CONFUSED , WANTING TO BELEIVE IT BUT HAVING PROBLEMS DOING SO. HE CASTS HIS MIND BACK TO THE MIRACULOUS CATCH OF FISH JUST 3 YEARS AGO IN GALILEE, HE REMEMBERS LAZARUS AND THE DAUGHTER OF JAIRUS BEING RAISED.
"YES" HE SAYS "BUT THIS IS JUST WAY OUT, HE HIMSELF WAS DEAD, I SAW HIM DIE, THE ROMANS KNEW HE WAS DEAD TOO, THATS WHY HIS LEGS WERE NOT BROKEN UNLIKE THE OTHERS WITH HIM ".
"I TOLD YOU SO" SAID MARY MAGDALENE, "YOU YOURSELF WENT TO THE TOMB AND THE STONE WAS ROLLED AWAY, WAS HE IN THERE ? NO! I SAW HIM, YES AT FIRST I DID NOT RECOGNISE HIM, BUT THEN WHEN HE SPOKE I REALISED IT WAS JESUS".
"MARY , I BELEIVE YOU " SAID CLEOPAS, SIMEON AGREED, THOMAS BEING HIS SKEPTICAL SELF HAD TO RESPOND " CLEOPAS, SIMEON I KNOW YOU SAID ALL THIS HAPPENED AT AN INN ON THE ROAD TO EMMAUS BUT ARE YOU SURE YOU DIDN'T VISIT ONE BEFORE YOUR JOURNEY BEGAN"? OF COURSE THAT RAISED A FEW LAUGHS IN THE UPPER ROOM, WHERE THEY WERE MEETING BUT NOT FROM PETER.
HE IS DESPERATE TO BELEIVE THAT HIS LORD IS ALIVE , BUT HE CANT GET OVER THE FACT THAT IF HE IS RISEN THEN WHY HAS HE NOT CAME TO PETER? SURELY HE WOULD . ALWAYS ON HIS MIND IS THE NIGHT HIS LORD WAS TAKEN AWAY, HE STILL HEARS THE ROOSTER AND IT HURTS HIM BECAUSE HE DENIED JESUS 3 TIMES DESPITE PLEDGING TO DIE WITH HIM.
HE SITS DOWN, PUTS HIS HEAD IN HIS HANDS, HE RUBS HIS EYES, ITS LATE, HE WANTS TO SLEEP, TIRED , FED UP , DEFEATED.......NOT QUITE.......HE LEAPS TO HIS FEET " RIGHT CLEOPAS, TELL ME AGAIN , DONT MISS OUT ANYTHING" BRIEFLY RECALLING HOW JESUS TOOK HIS FAITH OUT TO THE DEPTHS AT CAPERNAUM, THIS TIME HE TAKES HIMSELF OUT TO THE DEPTHS, HE PONDERS " COULD MY LORD HAVE RISEN ?I REMEMBER HIM SAYING TO THE SANHEDRIN " DESTROY THIS TEMPLE AND IN 3 DAYS I WILL RAISE IT UP " IT'S BEEN 3 DAYS SINCE HE.....COULD HE, IS THAT WHAT HE MEANT "?
HE TURNS TO CLEOPAS "BEGIN, PLEASE" THEY GATHER ROUND THE TWO TRAVELLERS , EVERY EYE FOCUSED ON THEM, THE ONLY SOUND TO BE HEARD IS THAT OF A DOG HOWLING OUTSIDE AND THE GENTLE SLAP OF THE WINDOW SHUTTER IN THE COOL LATE NIGHT BREEZE.
"AS YOU KNOW , SIMEON AND I HAD SET OFF FOR EMMAUS , IT WAS LATE AFTERNOON , ITS ONLY 7 MILES SO WE FIGURED AT A GOOD PACE WE COULD MAKE IT BY NIGHTFALL, WE WERE KEEN TO SEE HOW THE BELEIVERS WERE COPING AFTER ALL THE EVENTS OF THE LAST 3 DAYS."
"WE WERE TALKING OVER THESE VERY EVENTS WHEN A STRANGER DREW NEAR TO US AND JOURNEYED IN THE SAME DIRECTION, THERE WAS NOTHING REMARKABLE ABOUT HIS APPEARANCE , HIS TUNIC LOOKED WELL WORN, AND DUSTY, BUT WHEN HE LOOKED AT ME I SENSED HE WAS A MAN OF GREAT UNDERSTANDING, I DONT KNOW WHY".
"HE SAID, WHY ARE YOU SO DOWNCAST, WHAT IS IT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT"?
"I WAS ASTOUNDED. WE LOOKED AT HIM, I GUESS WITH UNBELEIF , I HAD TO SAY "SIR SURELY YOU ARE A STRANGER IN JERUSALEM, HAVE YOU NOT HEARD OF WHAT THINGS HAVE BEEN GOING ON THESE LAST FEW DAYS" "WHAT THINGS" HE SAID " SO I TOLD HIM" " CONCERNING JESUS OF NAZARETH, A PROPHET MIGHTY IN DEED EVEN BEFORE GOD AND THE PEOPLE, HOW THE CHIEF PRIESTS DELIVERED HIM TO BE CRUCIFIED BY THE ROMANS . WE BELEIVED HE WAS THE ONE TO REDEEM ISRAEL , BUT BESIDES ALL THAT , ITS THE THIRD DAY SINCE THAT HAPPENED , SOME OF THE WOMEN OF OUR COMPANY WENT TO THE TOMB EARLY THIS MORNING ONLY TO FIND IT OPEN AND THE BODY GONE , ONE OF THE WOMEN SAID SHE SAW AN ANGEL WHO TOLD HER THAT JESUS WAS RISEN, EVEN AFTER THAT OUR BROTHER PETER RAN TO THE TOMB ONLY TO FIND IT EMPTY ".
"WHAT DID HE SAY TO THAT" ASKED MATTHEW , GLANCING OVER TO PETER, WHO WAS ENGROSSED BY EVERY WORD OF SIMEON AND CLEOPAS.
"WELL" SAID CLEOPAS , "HE STEPPED OUT A FEW YARDS AHEAD OF US , AS WE SLOWED DOWN HE TURNED AROUND AND FACED US SAYING , ""O FOOLISH AND SLOW OF HEART TO BELEIVE ALL THAT THE PROPHETS HAVE SPOKEN...OUGHT NOT MESSIAH TO HAVE SUFFERED THESE THINGS ".?
"HE ENCOURAGED US TO WALK ON WITH HIM, AND BEGINNING AT MOSES AND THE PROPHETS HE EXPLAINED THE SCRIPTURES CONCERNING JESUS, I DIDN'T WANT IT TO END . HE MADE THE WORD COME ALIVE THE WAY HE SPOKE , ANYWAY WE WERE GETTING CLOSE TO EMMAUS, THERE WAS AN INN WERE WE HAD PLANNED TO TAKE SUPPER, IT LOOKED AS THOUGH OUR COMPANION HAD PLANNED TO CARRY ON DOWN THE ROAD, BUT WE INVITED HIM TO STAY WITH US AND TAKE REFRESHMENT, BESIDES THE DAY WAS OVER ,ITS NOT GOOD TO WALK IN THE DARKNESS, ESPECIALLY WITH THE INCREASED ROMAN PATROLS , THEY'RE VERY TENSE AT THE MOMENT."
"DIDN'T YOU KNOW IT WAS JESUS"? ASKED PETER, "HOW WAS IT YOU DID NOT RECOGNISE HIM? I WOULD OF "
" I DONT KNOW" REPLIED SIMEON, " I CANT EXPLAIN IT . MAYBE I WAS LOST IN HIS WORDS OR SOMETHING BECAUSE HE MADE THE SCRIPTURES SO EASY TO UNDERSTAND , HOW IS IT I NEVER SAW THESE THINGS COMING? ANYWAY WE SAT TOGETHER ON THE RUG BY THE FIRE AND HE REMOVED HIS TURBAN, I HAVE TO ADMIT THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT HIS EYES, ITS LIKE THEY LOOKED RIGHT THROUGH ME , TO MY INNER BEING EXAMINING MY HEART , MY SPIRIT , THEY WERE SO PIERCING "
"THE INNKEEPER BROUGHT US SOME BREAD AND WINE , OUR HUNGER FOR FOOD HAD CAUGHT UP WITH OUR HUNGER FOR THE WORD, YET IM SURE IT WOULD NOT BE AS SATISFYING ".
"WE ASKED OUR TRAVELLING GUEST TO SERVE , IT WAS THEN........SIMEON PAUSED AS THOUGH HE WAS RELIVING THAT MOMENT OVER AGAIN IN HIS MIND.
"IT WAS THEN, WHAT " SAID PETER, ANXIOUS TO KNOW EVERY DETAIL.
"IT WAS THEN "SAID CLEOPAS , "WHEN HE TOOK THE BREAD AND BLESSED IT , IT WAS THEN WHEN HE BROKE IT AND GAVE IT TO US THAT WE SAW THE WOUNDS ON HIS HANDS AND WE KNEW IT WAS THE MASTER , WE GLANCED AT EACH OTHER AND HE HAD GONE...VANISHED !! I THINK WE JUST SAT FOR A MOMENT LOOKING AT THE EMPTY SPACE , IT WAS AMAZING , WE HAD TO TELL YOU, THERE WAS NO WAY WE COULD HAVE WAITED UNTIL DAY LIGHT".
PETER STOOD UP LOOKING AT CLEOPAS AND SIMEON, HE NOTICED THAT THE EXCITEMENT AND AWE THEY HAD ONLY JUST RELATED THEIR STORY WITH HAD BEEN REPLACED WITH A LOOK OF WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS ASTONISHMENT.
PUZZLED , HE TURNED AROUND.....................
"PEACE BE WITH YOU " SAID JESUS.
